Traffic Stop Leads Authorities To Stolen Carter County Vehicle..Suspect Arrested

A Roan Mountain Tennessee woman is jailed after a routine traffic stop revealed she was driving a stolen vehicle. Carter County Deputies observed a green colored Nissan Altima traveling on Highway 19E. After making a registration check on the car, authorities discovered 32 year old Katie Harrell-Sims was indeed operating a stolen vehicle, reported stolen from a local hotel parking lot. After further investigation, Harrell-Sims was also found to be carrying a syringe in her purse, which she admitted was used for drugs. Harrell-Sims was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and drug paraphernalia possession and was then transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
