Last Of Huge Boilers Delivered At HAAP In Kingsport

Progress is being made at Kingsport’s Holston Army Ammunition Plant on a critical modernization construction project. The fourth and final boiler is being delivered Monday morning. And it’s no small package. The boiler is being hauled on a 230 foot long, 20 foot wide dual haul transport truck and follows three successful deliveries earlier this year. The four boilers are central to a new gas fired steam facility that will replace the existing coal fired power supply and will reduce emissions associated with coal and is also expected to significantly increase energy efficiency at the plant.
