Lee Set To Open Hair Salons And Barbershops In Most Areas Of Tennessee
Getting a bit shabby around the ears, due to the COVID-19 virus shutting down barber shops and salons? It looks like your wait is about over. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announces on Wednesday hair salons and barbershops in most Tennessee counties will be allowed to open next week. The announcement comes under guidance issued by the state’s COVID-19 Unified Command. Lee says opening those businesses at the beginning of May was his original plan, even though his most recent order suggested they may remain closed till the end of May. Lee’s announcement comes a day early, with Lee saying public concern over the issue prompted him to announce on Wednesday. The approval to open the salons and barbershops does not apply to Sullivan County, as it is operating under its own Health Department plan.
