Public Housing In Southwest Virginia Share Funds To Battle COVID-19
Southwest Virginia’s public housing systems will share more than a quarter of a million dollars to help authorities fight COVID-19. The money, which is part of more than seven million dollars provided by the Housing and Urban Development Agency and made available by the CARES Act Legislation signed into law in March, will be used to help vulnerable residents living in public housing in southwest Virginia. The funds will provide an additional two months of assistance than can be used for traditional administrative fees as well as new costs related to protecting assisted families and employees throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
