Free Hepatitis A Vaccines Being Offered In Smyth County
Last week a restaurant employee in Chilhowie was diagnosed with Hepatitis A and the Mount Rogers Health District is continuing to provide free Hepatitis A vaccines to those who think they may have been exposed when they ate at Taco Bell at 153 Virginia Highway 107 in Chilhowie. As a result persons who are food from the restaurant from April 14 to April 30 may have been exposed to the disease. By appointment only, free Hepatitis A vaccines will be made available at the Smyth County Health Department on Tuesday. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the tests will be provided through a drive through event and facial coverings must be worn during the vaccineations.
