UVA Wise chancellor cites low COVID-19 numbers in decision for Fall 2020 semester

University of Virginia’s College at Wise Chancellor Donna Price Henry announced Tuesday the plan to have students on campus for the Fall 2020 semester.

Henry cited COVID-19 cases in Southwest Virginia which are among the lowest in the Commonwealth as a factor in prepping the Wise County campus for August although the school is ready to pivot to online learning if needed.

The chancellor has also formed a steering committee to develop procedures to keep faculty and students safe in the classroom and in dorm halls.
