Virginia Governor Delays Northern Virginia Reopening
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is delaying the phase one reopening for Northern Virginia localities. The Governor on Tuesday issued Executive Order number 62 that allows specific localities in Northern Virginia to delay entering Phase One of the Forward Virginia plan to ease restrictions on certain business operations that were put into place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to allow those localities more time to meet the health metrics for reopening in Phase One. Northern Virginia according to data, is substantially higher that the rest of the state in percentage of positive COVID-19. Executive Order 62 allows those Northern localities to delay implementation of Phase One until midnight on Thursday May 28.
