Abingdon DMV one of 11 statewide service centers to reopen Monday

With reopening across much of Virginia a full go starting Friday, it also means services like the DMV will reopen its doors.

The state department of motor vehicles announced yesterday that 11 customer service centers including the Abingdon location will open back up with a temporary extension of hours, but will offer specific services by appointment only.

Virginia residents can now apply for an appointment, and a full list of offered services can also be found, with both located on the Virginia DMV’s website. The Abingdon center will be open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m-5 p.m. Seating will be limited inside and customers will be asked to stay in their vehicles 10 minutes prior to their appointment to maintain proper social distancing protocols.
