Vandals spoil setting at Little Stony Creek Gorge in Scott County, Virginia
The USDA Forest Service is investigating the work of vandals at a popular trail stop in Scott County, Virginia.
The agency reported an increase in graffiti at Bear Rock located at the trailhead of the Little Stony Creek Gorge in Dungannon—one of the most visited sites in the Clinch Ranger District.
The paint could be stuck on the rocks for decades because common cleaners contain caustic chemicals that can’t be used in an outdoor setting. Those convicted of the damages face up to six months in jail and a $5,000 fine.
