COVID-19 Cancels 95th Chincoteague Pony Swim In Virginia
The COVID-19 pandemic has canceled many events and activities since the outbreak occurred and now its taking its toll on what would have been the 95th Chincoteague Pony Swim and associated activities. The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department voted to cancel the swim and the Volunteer Fireman’s Carnival and Pony Penning celebration scheduled for July 2. The last time the pony swim celebration was canceled was during World War Two. The foals of the pony herd will be sold by way of online auction.
