FEMA issuing $5.7 million in funding to TN for emergency food and shelter programs
Northeast Tennessee counties are receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding for emergency food and shelter programs.
According to FEMA, its part of a $5.7 million grant heading to the state of TN to assist nonprofits helping residents that are experiencing hunger and homelessness. State localities are receiving funds for the 2019 fiscal year as well as money allotted by the CARES Act. Locally, six of our seven counties have been awarded a combined $437,060, including over $100,000 each heading to Sullivan and Washington counties.
Johnson County was the only locality in our region to not receive funds from FEMA. Below is a breakdown of funds each Northeast Tennessee county will receive for FY2019 and FY2020 CARES Act Allocation.
