JCPD: Man arrested after allegedly stabbing victim with machete in a fight at McDonald’s
An Elizabethton man is facing charges after Johnson City police say he stabbed a man with a machete in a McDonald’s parking lot.
Officers say a 911 call from witnesses said two men were in a fight at the restaurant’s parking lot just before 9:00 a.m Sunday. When police arrived, they found a male victim with lacerations to the head, leg, and hands. He was transported to the hospital and later released. Officials report the entire incident was captured on the store’s video surveillance.
Suspect Elijah Taylor, 36, had fled the area, but was later captured during a traffic stop. He is charged with aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine with intent for resale. Taylor is scheduled to be arraigned in court Tuesday.
