Greeneville PD arrest man accused of being intoxicated while asleep in vehicle with 12 day old baby inside

A Greeneville man is facing charges after police say they found him asleep and intoxicated with a 12 day old baby in the backseat of his vehicle.

Officers were called to Weigel’s Wednesday evening where they located suspect Paul Winstead parked at a gas pump asleep. After waking him up, police say he appeared to be confused as to where he was and what was going on. A report says a 12 day old baby was in a carseat in the vehicle. A Weigel’s attendant says Winstead pulled up to the pump two hours prior to being woke up by officers.

Winstead was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment, driving while license is Cancelled/Suspended/Revoked, and Violation Implied Consent.
