Art Competition In Kingsport Alleyway Returns After Brief Delay

It’s not your typical location for a mural, but a Kingsport Alleyway is getting some color and energy through a recently delayed Creative Placemaking Competition in Downtown Kingsport. Six artists are hard at work painting in the alley between Shelby and Cherokee Streets to beautify the off Main alleyway. The competition was delayed due to the Cornavirus Pandemic. The grant project is brought to Kingsport by the Tennessee Arts Commission. The designs were submitted and selected through a panel made up of the Public Arts Committee.
