NEW: Bristol, VA house fire under investigation by police, detectives call it ‘suspicious in nature’
A house fire last week in Bristol, VA is now being investigated by the Bristol, VA Police Department.
Mike Armstrong, Bristol, VA Fire Chief, tells Supertalk the fire department’s initial investigation has not led to a cause, part of the reason why it was turned over to local police detectives.
Steve Crawford, Bristol, VA Police Department Detective Sgt. says they are considering the fire that left the home at a total loss last Thursday, suspicious in nature, but have not ruled it an arson.
The home was vacant when it caught fire in the early morning hours of May 28th. The homeowner had been deceased for a while according to officials and lots of personal property was still inside the house at the time of the fire. Anyone with information on this case should contact Bristol, VA Police at 276-645-7400.
