UPDATE: Rider dead from injuries in Bristol motorcycle crash identified by VSP
The Virginia State Police has now identified the motorcycle rider who died from his injuries following a Thursday afternoon crash.
Michael E. Brown, 46, of Sneedville, Tennessee, was traveling on the Interstate 381 on-ramp at Exit 1 in Bristol, Virginia just before 5:30 pm when he lost control of the machine, ran off the road, and was ejected.
A preliminary investigation says speed was a factor in the wreck.
