Big Stone Gap man receives 2-year sentence for domestic assault

A Wise County man jailed in November for physically abusing a family member has been sentenced in Circuit Court.

Larry Allen Lowe, Jr., 33, of Big Stone Gap, will serve two years in prison for a variety of charges including violating a protective order, assault and battery, and abduction, according to a report from Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Slemp.

The victim was able to break free from Lowe and run to a neighbor’s home where she called police. Lowe was captured after he crashed his car while trying to escape from authorities.
