Hamblen County to begin 2020-2021 school year July 31st
School officials in neighboring Morristown have set their plans for the upcoming school year.
The Hamblen County Board of Education has announced classes will begin July 31st but acknowledge that they are still working on details and specifics for the educational term which they said could be altered if future health conditions warrant.
Students in Morristown will currently have the option of attending classes in person or participate in online learning. The system also plans on purchasing hundreds of wi-fi hot spots to help students with internet access.
While most grades will be eligible for home learning options, school officials are stressing the need for students in grades pre-K through second to attend classes in person due to the amount of personal instruction needed for core subjects, the report said.
