UPDATE: 14-year old female flown to hospital after being hit by vehicle while riding bike in Hawkins County
A 14-year old female who was riding on a bike is hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle late Tuesday night in Hawkins County.
A preliminary report from Tennessee Highway Patrol says Branden McKibbin, 19, of Bulls Gap, TN, was traveling north in a 2003 Ford Explorer on Highway 66 near the intersection of Thorps Chapel Road around 11:30 p.m, when officers say his vehicle struck a juvenile female riding a bike. The incident caused a portion of Highway 66 to be shut down, and the juvenile was flown to UT Medical Center where she is listed in stable condition.
THP says charges are possibly pending against McKibbin while the crash remains under investigation.
