Town of Greeneville issues COVID-19 health guidelines ahead of 4th of July downtown celebration
The Town of Greeneville has issued health guidelines ahead of its revamped 4th of July celebration.
The 8th annual America Downtown celebration was modified earlier this month to a citywide celebration in hopes of spreading out crowds rather than attracting large crowds in specific areas due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Town officials say a limited supply of masks will be available at Gosnell’s Stereo and Music on Tusculum Blvd where the celebration starts. Hand sanitizer stations will be located at Gosnell’s as well as Hardin Park. Those watching the scheduled concerts are asked to social distance.
Prior to fireworks, a caravan-style parade will ride through downtown, and once the firework display begins at Greeneville High School, officials ask event goers to either stay in their vehicles or use a blanket to designate their spot while watching the display.
The downtown celebration is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
