City of Elizabethton: One employee tests positive for COVID-19

Officials have confirmed a City of Elizabethton employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to City Manager Daniel Estes, the city was notified of the positive test result on June 15th. Estes says other employees in the workers vicinity were notified, and those employees were not considered close contact by the local health department.

The city has cleaned the area where the employee worked and has implemented enhanced cleaning policies since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
