50 million dollars will now provide rent and mortgage relief for households experiencing financial instability due to COVID-19 in Virginia. Governor Ralph Northam is launching the Virginia Rent and Mortgage Relief Program, which will provide the funding for federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security for those qualifying The program will provide short term financial assistance on behalf of households in the form of rent and mortgage payments. The Department of Housing and Community Development will administer the 50 million dollars through a variety of partners, including nonprofit organizations and local governments.
