Washington Co., TN BOE approves three-option school reopening plan
Washington County, TN school leaders have approved a three pronged reopening plan for the upcoming academic year.
During the Board of Education meeting last night, members voted 7-2 in favor of the reopening plan that has three different options, including a full reopening, a staggered reopening, and fully online, although a specific option has not yet been selected.
Changes to the plan can happen based on the latest COVID-19 data. Bus riders will be required to wear a mask on the school bus, and their temperatures as well as car rider temperatures will be checked prior to entering school facilities.
Director of Schools Dr. Bill Flannary says he anticipates around 20-25% of students will stay home this fall semester based on surveys sent to parents.
