Washington County, VA Schools using alternate operating schedule to start 2020-21 year
School officials in Washington County, Virginia are the latest school district in the region to release their reopening plans.
The school system says it plans to operate on a hybrid schedule, with two sets of students alternating when they come to campus and when they learn remotely. Students in group A will come to school Mondays and Tuesdays while operating remotely Thursday and Friday, and students in group B will come to school Thursday and Friday, with remote learning in place Monday and Tuesday.
No students will be on campus Wednesday, as it will be a day for deep cleaning and things like tutoring. The school says this plan is necessary to start with to adhere to proper social distancing guidelines, and they say they hope to expand in-person learning, but is reminding parents the current plans could possibly change prior to the start of classes.
A full detailed plan is set to be released soon in anticipation for a return to classes August 10th.
