Food City orders mask mandate for customers starting July 23rd

Shoppers entering Food City stores beginning next Thursday, July 23rd, will be required to wear a face covering

“So we’re asking our customers now during their 30, 45, or hour shopping experience to put your face coverings on. Help protect yourself, help protect our associates, help protect your neighbor, and help protect the economy,” said Steve Smith, Food City President and CEO.

Smith announced the mask mandate during a press conference on Friday morning. This mandate also includes the company owned Super Dollar Stores. In the last week, several localities in Northeast TN, in addition to regional and national chains have instituted a mask wearing policy.

Food City store employees and associates have been required to wear a face covering since May.
