First COVID-19 death reported in Mountain Home V.A system

The first COVID-19 death has been reported within the Mountain Home V.A. Healthcare System.

The department of veterans affairs COVID-19 dashboard confirmed the death as of Tuesday, while also reporting 56 active cases, 49 of those veterans and 7 employees with the virus.

The numbers reflect all Mountain Home in-system clinics including the location in Johnson City.
