Police: Don’t give out information to people posing as school employees conducting back-to-school surveys
Two sheriff offices in Southwest Virginia are warning residents to be aware of scammers posing as school employees going door-to-door conducting surveys for the upcoming academic year.
Separate social media posts from the Washington County, VA and Smyth County Sheriff’s Office indicate the issue resides in both localities.

Both offices confirmed that the Smyth County and Washington County school systems are not doing in-person surveys and ask people not to give out any information about their children should they encounter one of these individuals posing as a school employee.
