UPDATE: TSSAA Board of Control votes for tentative hybrid football schedule with numerous regulations

The TSSAA Board of Control on Wednesday voted for a hybrid format schedule for football and soccer that hinge largely on Governor Bill Lee’s pandemic orders.
That format is an 8-game regular season with conference champions and runners-up advancing to the playoffs with a potential start of the season happening on Sept. 18.
Strict regulations were also adopted for schools including temperature checks for students, coaches, referees, and fans at games, no scrimmage or jamboree games, limiting the size of crowds, and discouraging concession stands at stadiums although they did not go as far as banning them.
The governor’s latest order banning contact sports expires Aug. 9.
A complete list of regulations and potential schedule details will be posted here.
