UPDATE: Long-term care facility in Blountville halts admissions as COVID cluster grows

Christian Care Center has temporarily stopped admissions as the Blountville facility continues to treat an active cluster of COVID cases.

A report from the center on Thursday said 35 residents with the virus are in isolation and five others hospitalized while three former patients died from the condition.

Tennessee health officials inspected various operations within Christian Care earlier this week and staff continues to confer with local health executives about procedures and strict guidelines.

The center also reported that 13 staff members and 23 residents are recovering from the virus.
