One arrested in shooting Wednesday evening in Lee County

Virginia State Police are investigating a shooting that left a male victim with life-threatening injuries Wednesday evening in Lee County.

A state police spokesperson says troopers were called to a shooting at a residence in Jonesville, and upon arrival, found an adult male victim with a gunshot wound. The individual was flown to Bristol Regional Medical Center. VSP says with assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, they located the suspect a short distance away, who was taken into custody without incident.

Charges are pending against the suspect.
