Virginia Lottery Raises 595 Million Dollars For Education
Even with facing an uncertain economy, the Virginia Lottery generated 595 million dollars this fiscal year, that ended in June. The money raised is the third highest amount in the lottery’s 32 year history. That averages out to more than one point six million dollars per day raised by the lottery. The funds raised go directly to the State’s education fund for students in K-12. The biggest single win of the year came when a Haymarket man won ten million dollars when he bought an Extreme Millions Scratcher ticket in Manassas.
