Bluefield College student tests positive for COVID during move-in day on campus

A Bluefield College student preparing to move into one of the campus dorms over the weekend tested positive for COVID-19 when he officially checked in and was evaluated by school personnel.

A statement from Bluefield president David Olive said the student will quarantine at home while the three college workers who assisted him were sent home and will be tested for the virus this week.

Olive noted that Shott Hall, the dorm where the student was planning to reside, was closed and cleaned. The school also contacted the Virginia Department of Health for further assistance.
