Wise Co. School Board calls emergency meeting for Monday to discuss reopening plans
The Wise County, VA School Board has called an emergency meeting to discuss the district’s reopening plan.
In July, the board approved a hybrid reopening plan that would split groups of students attending in-person two days a week, including one group going Monday and Tuesday, while the other group would go Thursday and Friday. Classes are set to start Thursday, but in just the last week however, the county experienced a significant increase of COVID-19 cases, with 153 new cases since Sunday.
The board could possibly modify the reopening plan during the meeting tonight, set to start at 6 p.m.
