COVID testing reveals 29 prisoners, 10 workers in Sullivan County Jail positive with virus
COVID-19 testing conducted earlier this week on inmates in the Sullivan County Jail has resulted in 29 prisoners now being treated after positive results.
A report from Sheriff Jeff Cassidy’s office said a total of 40 occupants were tested by officials with the Sullivan County Regional Health Department along with correctional officers and staff. Cassidy said 10 of those department officials are now in isolation following a positive diagnosis.
The statement said those inmates who are now undergoing treatment away from the remainder of the jail population are either asymptomatic or are showing the virus’ mild-cold symptoms.
