UPDATE: UT asks season ticket holders not attending games to donate to fund that helps students during pandemic
Season ticket holders at Neyland Stadium can still get their seats for games this year. They just don’t know where they will be at this point or if they’ll be allowed into the venue.
A letter to University of Tennessee football ticket holders asking for renewals said seating arrangements will be determined at a later date as the school plans to adhere to state and federal health guidelines by spacing out spectators through social distancing.
Vol fans who will not be attending games this year due to pandemic restrictions are being asked by the university to donate their ticket money to the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund which the school plans to use as a supplement to reported shortfalls in revenue.
UT Athletic Director Phil Fulmer said losses from limited ticket sales, concessions, and other football-related expenditures could measure upwards of $50 million.
