Improvements Should Help With Absentee, Early Voting By Mail
The COVID-19 pandemic has contributed to additional changes at the local level that will complement the new election laws that took effect in the state of Virginia this summer. Beginning with the fall 2020 election, voters can vote absentee by mail or early in person up to 45 days before the election without having to state a reason. The election office also has plans underway to improve the drive thru at City Hall, redesign the flow of the office suit and will use a staff member dedicated to coordinating absentee voting. Absentee by mail and early in person voting begins September 18th.
