UPDATE: Virginia’s SCC extends utility cutoff moratorium until Sept. 16
Another extension is coming to homeowners and renters who are having financial troubles due to COVID-19.
Virginia’s State Corporation Commission on Monday approved a measure to extend a moratorium on utility cutoffs until Sept. 16 along with late payment fees being waived.
This marks the sixth consecutive month the state has helped consumers but it could be the last unless the General Assembly intervenes with another vote to extend the courtesy.
