Tennessee Election Office seeking poll workers for November election
Tennessee State election officials are seeking workers to serve at polling stations across the state for the upcoming November election.
Secretary of State Tre Hargett’s office says the state requires around 17,000 workers in such an election year with this year being a presidential election year. The election office says they received lots of help from young workers during this month’s primary.
For those interested in working as a paid poll worker in November, requirements include being 16 and older or 18 and older as a registered voter, cannot be a candidate or related to one, and must be able to read and write English. The office says workers must wear face coverings and receive COVID-19 precaution training.
Those who work in local government also qualify unless they are working directly under a candidate. State employees are also eligible. As for federal workers, they should consult with human resources.
