Bristol, TN BOE approves “critical infrastructure” workers plan
The Bristol, TN Board of Education has approved a measure which allows the director of schools to designate some or all staff critical infrastructure employees.
The plan was given the green light following a 4-1 vote during a meeting Tuesday night.
Part of the plan says employees who have had exposure to a positive COVID-19 household contact and cannot avoid close contact must quarantine according to state department of health requirements. It also says employees who have had potential exposure to a non-household contact as defined by the CDC and by this policy, but remain asymptomatic, will have the choice to either quarantine at home and use any available paid or unpaid leave benefits or work onsite while following practices like temperature screenings, regular monitoring of symptoms, wearing a mask, and other precautions.
