UPDATE: Governor Lee makes special appointment for Washington County General Sessions Court

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has appointed a special judge for General Sessions Court in Washington County.

A statement from Lee’s office issued Thursday said Janet Vest Hardin, a former two-time Assistant District Attorney for the region, will take the bench and said he was grateful for her service because of her vast experience.

Hardin will be ruling on cases in the place of Judge Jim Nidiffer who notified the governor in February of his intentions to step away from service for medical treatment.
