Man arrested in Big Stone Gap homicide
UPDATE: (7:00 a.m)
Wise County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chuck Slemp confirmed with Supertalk that Joshua Blake Smith, 31, of Big Stone Gap, VA was arrested last night. He faces charges of second degree murder, abduction, malicious preventing another from calling 911, trespassing, credit card theft, credit card fraud, identity theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a schedule III controlled substance, solicitation of another to conceal a dead body, and three charges for failing to appear in court on unrelated charges. Smith is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail at Duffield. The incident remains under investigation.
