Kentucky governor creates eviction relief fund to help struggling renters
While struggling renters in Virginia await further action on moratoriums on evictions, neighboring Kentucky is using federal virus relief dollars to help residents pay their rent.
Governor Andy Beshear has announced the creation of a $15 million eviction relief fund that will reimburse landlords for tenants’ missed payments and will also give those property owners advances for rent to help keep those struggling with finances due to COVID-19 inside their home.
The fund will accept applicants from 119 Kentucky counties beginning next month.
