Virginia High School League To Meet To Discuss Possible Abbreviated Sports Calendar
If and when, high school sports are played in Virginia, league officials are planning for a sixty percent reduction in regular season games in most sports. The Virginia High School League is releasing proposed contest limits for the delayed high school sports calendar. Those limits include limiting the basketball season to 12 games down from 22 games, a 12 game season for baseball and ten for soccer and tennis. The proposal also includes a time frame for district, region and state tournaments for each sport. The Virginia High School League’s Executive Committee meets Wednesday after having statewide conversations with school and athletic officials.
