Virginia’s African American History Standards Remain Incomplete…According To State Commission
Standards for Virginia’s African American History continue to be incomplete in regards to incorporating that history into the large narrative. Those were the findings Monday from a commission tasked with examining Virginia’s history standards. In its final report, the Virginia African American History Education Commission says the state should make immediate technical changes to the state’s learning standards related to African American History. The commission goes on to say the state should explore broader changes during the formal standards review process in 2025.
