Boil water advisory in effect for areas in Buchanan County, VA from impacts of early week heavy rains

A boil water advisory is in effect for portions of Buchanan County, VA.

The county’s public service authority issued the boil water advisory for the communities of Patterson and Slate Creek from Stone Coal to Pea Patch as well as the Rockhouse and Hurley communities. The advisory comes following storms containing heavy rains that caused flooding and mudslides in the county.

The advisory is in effect until further notice.
