Kingsport, Bristol City Schools to continue offering free meals to students for the remainder of 2020
Kingsport City and Bristol, TN City Schools will continue serving free meals to students for the rest of 2020.
Both systems announced Tuesday that the US Department of Agriculture had extended its Free Meals for Kids Program for the remainder of the year due to COVID-19. Both school districts say in-person and remote learners are eligible.

Bristol, TN City Schools
Meal pickup (Where?)- Vance Middle School (Columbia Rd; pick-up is one-way with access from Tremont) (When?)- Tuesdays and Thursdays; 4:00-6:00 p.m. Remote learners can pick up for all schools can pick up meals both days. In-person learners at Vance Middle School and Tennessee High School can go by last name. Tuesday (Last names M-Z) Thursday (Last names A-L). It will be drive-thru, and a free supper will be given to each student as well.
Additional information from BTCS: Each Tuesday, students will receive 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 suppers. Each Thursday, students will receive 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, and 3 suppers. Each student can only receive one set of meals per distribution. If any duplicate meals are received at different locations, the meals will be charged to the student’s meal account. Parents/guardians are responsible for all meal charges. Meals will be cold items that can be heated when convenient or ready to eat. There will be no home delivery of meals. Kingsport City Schools
No cost meals (breakfast and lunch) will be served on all school days to all children 18 years of age or younger until December 18, 2020 (the last day of school before KCS Winter Break). “Grab and Go” meals will be provided from 10-10:30 a.m. at school sites for KCS Remote Choice Learning students and non-KCS students. There are no income requirements to participate in this meal program.
