Mount Rogers Health District issues alert about possible coronavirus outbreaks in churches and other places of worship
The Mount Rogers Health District has issued a warning about potential for outbreaks of COVID-19 in churches and other faith-based settings.
District Director Dr. Karen Shelton said in a news release Tuesday that there have been multiple coronavirus outbreaks in places of worship across Southwest VA, including a church that had a reported 40 cases.
The district encourages churches and other places of worship to hold services outside if possible, and use proper health protocols like mask wearing, social distance and increase that distance if singing, and refrain from passing objects between members of the congregation.
