Nashville Man Arrested, Charged In Multi-Agency Drug Investigation
A multi- agency drug investigation in Sullvan county has resulted in the arrest of a Nashville man on various drug charges. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office along with the Kingsport Police Department, the Second Judicial District Drug Task Force and the TBI arrested 37 year old Thomas James Thompson. Investigators believe Thompson, along with another male were traveling from Nashville to Kingsport early Tuesday morning when they were stopped by authorities on Interstate 81 near the Interstate 26 interchange. A narcotics detection K-9 indicated narcotics were inside the vehicle Thompson was traveling in . Thompson was take to the Sullivan County Jail, where further investigations revealed Thompson was found to also be in possession of a bag containing 30 grams of heroin with a street value of at least nine thousand dollars. Thompson is being held in the Sullivan County jail on a 35 thousand dollar bond.
