UVA-Wise Spring 2020 commencement ceremony further delayed to May 2021 due to COVID-19
For the second time this year, impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic have delayed the commencement ceremony for Spring 2020 UVA-Wise graduates.
Plans to conduct an in-person graduation ceremony were slated to take place on October 4th, but the university says another spike of coronavirus cases in the state have pushed those plans to next May. Current plans now pin the commencement ceremony for Sunday, May 9th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m in the David J. Prior Center.
Chancellor Donna Henry says school officials will be in touch with Class of 2020 graduates with additional details for planning purposes in the coming months.
