UPDATE: TWRA pulls back resources as ‘tiger hunt’ in Knoxville goes cold
Traps have been disassembled and TWRA officials are no longer actively searching for a tiger that was spotted by a law enforcement officer late Wednesday near the Forks of the River Industrial Park in Knoxville.
Wildlife agency spokesperson Matt Cameron said the search turned cold following several unconfirmed sightings on Thursday and the group would return to the hunt if the situation warrants.
All of the tigers at Zoo Knoxville and a nearby feline sanctuary in Kingston have been accounted for.
